Blue Peris

For the past week i spent my time at Blue Peris, an adventure centre in North Wales, with my school. It was awesome.
On the first day, Monday, i went orienteering in woods surrounding a lake. It was pretty fun, although kinda tiring. Then i went rock climbing, at a popular spot in the middle of a valley. The rock face we wee climbing was roughly 10m high. It was really good, but at some points it was fairly challenging.
On Tuesday, i went abseiling off a 30m cliff into a boggy pit. At first you were a bit nervous, but it turned out to be really enjoyable. Afterwards i went kayaking in the deepest lake in Wales, 18m deep. It was amazing, and nobody capsized until we played games at the end - the water turned out to be freezing.
Wednesday, we were meant to go sea cliff traversing, but due to weather, we went gorge scrambling on the Black River. But apparently, they are both similar. Gorge scrambing was incredible, we made our way up small climbs, through deep pools, up and around waterfalls, and through tight gaps. This was an all day activity.
On Thursday, i climbed a mountain called Glyder Fawr, which peaks at just about 1000m. It was a mission, and at points you thought to yourself - why am i doing this? - especially when you looked down only to see a steep drop below. But in the end, when you had completed it you were in a good mood and felt proud of yourself. And then you realized you had a trek down. But still, it was an incredible experience.
The last day, Friday. Friday was options day, the day where you had a choice of several activities to do. The choices were: Sea cliff traversing, Gorge Scrambling, Mining, Climbing and Surf kayaking. I chose surf kayaking - kayaking in the sea - because i had enjoyed doing it before. We went to Anglessey to to do this. This was an amazing yet frightening experience. At points we were asked to cross open tides, fighting through rough waves; squeeze through tight gaps between sharp rocks and test maneuverability during games. I experienced one frightening moment, i paddled over a big wave only to see two sharp rocks wedged together with big waves crashing over them, i tried to turn, but somebody came from behind and knocked me on top of the two rocks and was stuck on top of them both. I was scared because waves were crashing against the side of my kayak. I thought i was a gonna for a while. But fortunately i managed to push my self off the rocks using my paddle and hands.
Overall, Blue Peris was an awesome experience and is highly recommended. Details at www.blueperis.co.uk

Football or Extreme Sports?

I am quitting football, although quite a lot of people don't think i should. Instead I'm going to do several extreme sports that I've started over the last 6 months; mountain boarding, mountain biking and snowboarding. I just don't find football fun any more, it got too competitive and boring. And although i kinda suck at all of them, i find the extreme sports really exciting, and anyway i will get better at them eventually. Also, where i live, there are limited places for you to do them.

What do you prefer, Football (or if you're american, soccer), or Extreme Sports?
